The History of J.J. Blackburn & Company
The family-run company of J.J. Blackburn was established in 1969 by John and Pat Byrom and Pats' father Jesse Turner, and is now run by Jesse's granddaughter Gill Byrom. It was built on the solid foundations of a lifetime's experience of the fish frying trade and engineering know-how.
Jesse had been a commercial traveller selling frying ranges in the post war era. The combination of John's engineering skills and Jesse's in depth knowledge of the fish frying trade led to the successful development of 'BLACKBURN' frying ranges, which have proved to be reliable and practical.
The company has always been based in South Wales and our original statement of intent has never wavered:
- To produce the best range possible for each and every customer.
- To continue research and development thus maintaining our technical advantages.
- To retain personal links with our customers.
All our frying ranges are produced in a factory unit located in Cwmbran, South Wales, with easy access to the motorway network.
Meeting the challenges of the next century
We remain a family run business serving the fish frying trade for over 40
years and are pleased to carry on the tradition of an old fashioned caring
company manufacturing a thoroughly modern fish frying range which carries
the CE mark of approval. We are proud of our reputation for quality and
service.
